Contentious Probate / Litigation Solicitor
Job Description
A top-tier law firm is seeking a skilled and confident Contentious Probate Solicitor to join its specialist Contentious Trusts and Estates team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on complex and often high-profile disputes relating to wills, trusts, and estates.
Key Responsibilities:
— Advising on Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 claims
— Acting on disputes regarding the validity of wills, undue influence, capacity, and fraud
— Representing clients in the High Court and through alternative dispute resolution
— Drafting pleadings, instructions to counsel, witness statements, and legal submissions
— Managing your own caseload and assisting partners on more complex matters
— Building strong client relationships and supporting business development
Candidate Requirements:
— Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with 3–7 years PQE in contentious probate or litigation
— Strong understanding of probate disputes and civil procedure
— Excellent written advocacy and negotiation skills
— Confident handling complex and sensitive client issues
— ACTAPS membership or interest in pursuing it (desirable)
