Job Description
A respected law firm specialising in rural and agricultural law is seeking an experienced Agricultural Lawyer to join its expert team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of agricultural, rural property, and farming law matters, advising clients such as farmers, landowners, and agribusinesses.
Key Responsibilities:
— Advising on agricultural land sales, purchases, and leasing agreements
— Handling farming succession planning and rural estate management issues
— Providing guidance on regulatory compliance including environmental, subsidy, and planning laws
— Drafting and negotiating contracts related to agricultural operations and rural businesses
— Representing clients in disputes related to agricultural tenancies, land use, and water rights
— Advising on grants, subsidies, and renewable energy projects in rural settings
Candidate Requirements:
— Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with 3–7 years PQE in agricultural or rural property law
— Strong knowledge of agricultural tenancies, rural land issues, and associated regulatory frameworks
— Excellent drafting, negotiation, and client communication skills
— Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently
— Experience advising high-net-worth clients, farmers, and rural businesses
— Commercial awareness and proactive approach
