Legal Cashier
Job Description
A well-established law firm is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Legal Cashier to join its finance team. This role is key to ensuring accurate financial management and compliance with Solicitors’ Accounts Rules — supporting the smooth running of the firm’s accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities:
— Managing all client and office ledger transactions — including receipts, payments, and transfers
— Preparing and reconciling bank statements and client account reconciliations
— Ensuring compliance with Solicitors’ Accounts Rules and internal financial controls
— Producing management reports and assisting with audit preparation
— Liaising with solicitors, clients, banks, and external auditors on financial matters
— Processing invoices, expenses, and staff reimbursements
— Maintaining accurate financial records and filing systems
Candidate Requirements:
— Previous experience as a Legal Cashier or in a similar accounts role — preferably within a legal environment
— Strong understanding of Solicitors’ Accounts Rules and compliance requirements
— Excellent numeracy and attention to detail
— Proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel
— Reliable, organised, and able to work under pressure to deadlines
— Good communication and interpersonal skills
