Family Lawyer — Private and Legal Aid Funded Role
Job Description
A well-established and client-focused law firm is seeking a skilled Family Lawyer to join its busy Family Law team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse caseload — including both private family matters and legal aid funded cases.
Key Responsibilities:
— Advising clients on a broad range of family law issues — including divorce, financial settlements, child arrangements, and domestic abuse
— Managing legal aid and privately funded cases from instruction through to resolution
— Drafting legal documents such as consent orders, applications, and statements
— Representing clients at court hearings, mediations, and other dispute resolution forums
— Providing sensitive and compassionate client care — particularly in emotionally charged situations
— Maintaining compliance with legal aid regulations and procedures
— Keeping abreast of developments in family law and relevant legislation
Candidate Requirements:
— Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with experience in family law — including legal aid work
— Strong knowledge of family law procedures and legal aid regulations
— Excellent advocacy, negotiation, and drafting skills
— Ability to manage a varied caseload efficiently and meet deadlines
— Exceptional communication and client management skills — with empathy and professionalism
— Proactive, organised, and able to work both independently and collaboratively
