Experienced Paralegal — Housing
Job Description
A busy and well-regarded law firm is seeking an experienced Paralegal with strong knowledge of housing law and legal aid to join its dedicated team. This role offers the chance to work on a varied caseload of housing matters — including possession proceedings, homelessness, disrepair, and related legal aid work.
Key Responsibilities:
— Assisting solicitors with case preparation and management in housing law matters
— Drafting correspondence, pleadings, and legal documents related to housing cases
— Supporting clients with legal aid applications and compliance with funding regulations
— Liaising with clients, courts, local authorities, and other stakeholders
— Managing case files and maintaining accurate records
— Keeping up to date with housing law developments and legal aid criteria
Candidate Requirements:
— Proven experience as a paralegal in housing law with strong legal aid knowledge
— Excellent organisational, drafting, and communication skills
— Ability to manage a busy caseload and prioritise effectively
— Good IT skills and familiarity with case management systems
— Client-focused with empathy and professionalism
— Understanding of legal aid funding rules and application processes
