Job Description
A well-established and client-focused law firm is seeking experienced Criminal Defence Solicitors to join its busy criminal law team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse range of criminal defence cases — from initial advice through to trial representation.
Key Responsibilities:
— Representing clients in Magistrates’ Courts and Crown Courts
— Advising on all aspects of criminal law — including plea negotiations, bail applications, and sentencing hearings
— Preparing cases thoroughly — including drafting statements, reviewing evidence, and instructing experts
— Advocating for clients during hearings and trials
— Maintaining strong client relationships with empathy and professionalism
— Keeping up to date with changes in criminal law and procedure
— Collaborating with colleagues and support staff to ensure excellent case management
Candidate Requirements:
— Qualified Solicitor with experience in criminal defence work
— Strong advocacy and negotiation skills
— Ability to handle a varied caseload independently
— Excellent client care and communication abilities
— Resilient, confident, and committed to justice
— Familiarity with Legal Aid procedures is preferred
